Sultan Costume That Can Double As A Wiseman
Well the theme over here at Aladdin costumes seems to be wise man costumes again. These costumes have the Arabian look to them but can easily double as a Wise man costume for festive plays, passion plays or to celebrate Christmas.
So you can take on the role of supreme ruler in this elegant looking sultan costume. The Sultan was basically the king or ruler in many ancient civilizations from the Persian or Arabian region. You might even find a Sultan in Turkey in the olden times. And of course Sultans feature heavily in many of the tale in the 1001 Nights.
In the Aladdin tale, the Sultan threatens to kill Aladdin but ultimately gives away his daughter Princess Jasmine in marriage to Aladdin after he has proved himself.
Sultan Adult Costume
This particular costume consists of a floor length red tunic with gold trim. The colors, especially the red, are rich and deep which is sure to really stand out in a crowd at a party or some other get together occasion. Along with the tunic is a matching red robe that fits over the shoulders and goes to just below the knee.
The final part of the costume is the headpiece which is also red with gold accents and has the style of an old fashioned Keffiyeh or traditional Arab headgear. You can see that it is meant to be for a noble or royal person as it is a bit different to the standard head gear that the average person might wear.
This Sultan Adult costume would go well at a Halloween event as you could play an exotic looking character from Arabian and Persian myths. Add the beard, mustache and maybe a rubbing lamp to really get into the part. It would certainly stand out from the crowd of super hero costumes and other pop culture outfits, as not many people would think to come as a Sultan from Ancient times.
Conversely you could wear it as one of the Wise men that traveled to Bethlehem to greet and celebrate the birth of Jesus. These men are thought to have traveled from the same region as where the tales of Aladdin were set. Some even say they traveled from further a field and hailed from the Far East.
