A little “Harem” history

Usually, when people hear the word “Harem” they usually link it to Arabia.  However, this is actually a Turkish term taken from the Arabic “Haram” which means a forbidden place, a sacred place, a sanctuary of some sort.   So why the whole mix up?  Who knows?  But it could be because both people in each place have almost the same style of clothes and what not.

These places are sacred mainly because it originally implies women’s quarters but if you translate it directly it means something that is forbidden and that has been safely kept.  Harem, to be used correctly, should only be used in Muslim houses and homes.

Forbidden from the party no more.  Now your furry friend will surely join in on the festivities in this Harem Dog Costume.  Who let the dogs out?  You did, and in a very stylish fur ball friendly ensemble.
