A brief look on the three wisemen- the Magi

The three kings, Kings from the East to be more specific, the three astrologers, the three wise men, the Magi- however you may know them, these are the foreigners who brought gifts of frankincense, gold, and myrrh to baby Jesus right after he was born.  These men were believed to have followed the North Star that led them to the tiny manger where Christ was found.   So, whenever Christmas time comes around, they will not be missed as they are common pieces in the nativity scene and also because they play a rather important role in the whole Christian tradition.

It is from the Gospel of Matthew, the only one that actually mentions them, that it can be known that the three wise men, the Magi, came from the east in sole purpose to worship Jesus Christ, who is “born King of the Jews” and lay gifts before the King.

Emerald Wiseman Costume
